He stood on the sidelines on 1/9/2012 and dropped turd after turd while Saban shot multiple loads out of readily-built erections.

It just baffles me that not many people nationally respect Les Miles.

A lot of people remember the Ole Miss game in 2009, the Tennessee game in 2010, and the lack of a passing attack for the past five years.

What is there not to like?

I like Les but of course sometimes you finish watching a game thinking we could of won a game that we lost or beat a team by far more points but hes gotten us to a couple of couple of championship games and many of SEC championships so I dont care what others say as long as we competitive,

In response to the original post, that perception is probably due to the following (likely not all inclusive):

(1) When Leslie isn't acting like he's stupid, he's acting like a stooge;

(2) Often frustrating/maddening (to fans & observers) game-planning;

(3) Perception of lucky wins; and

(4) Opportunities squandered.

At least, that's my beef with him.

Geaux tigers!

Les...eh.

PS-whatever "impresses upon his players" means, don't you think Saban does that like few others?

The lack of respect for Les is just this:

A media and LSU fanbase perception that was created years ago. I'm not saying all LSU fans, but sites like TD.com contribute to this "lack of respect".

ESPN does it for obvious reasons: LSU isn't a large-market team. Programs like LSU need to be put in their place in the CFB world. That's why games with division rivals don't count, NC are "split" with teams that don't play in the title games, and preseason rankings/schedule strength are ignored or overblown.

Our fan base does it because well...

Well I honestly don't know anymore.

Miles' standard for excellence is two to three times harder than every other SEC coach entering every season due to a tougher schedule and the requirement of beating Saban twice a year. No other coach in the country has that standard, yet the media and Miles' own fan base will bash him to no end when he doesn't accomplish it.

That's the reality.

A lot of it has to do with the way the special people on ESPN portray Les to the rest of the country. I don't believe I've ever seen Fowler mention Les' name without a grin on his face.

I will try to be as unbiased as possible...

Now, as much as i hate the guy, Nick Saban is the #1 coach in the SEC/nation. That is not debatable. Now i can possibly see an arguement for steve spurrior, he is a great coach. Richt is another pretty good coach, but compared to Les, Les will have to say anything you can do i can do better. There is no way Richt is better than Les,PERIOD. Now to put frankline, Sumlin, and Mullins ahead of Les

I dont understand, you have 1 winning season and all of a sudden youre an elite coach, will somebody please help me with this logic because im just lost

Athlon are a bunch of hacks. Les Miles has 2 SEC titles and 2 rightful Nattys. Saban's didn't earn the 2011 title. How media outlets can overlook or ignore the bullshite of 2011 blows me away. If LSU doesn't get fricked there, these dumbass critics are talking about how great Les is with 2 Nattys, which he rightfully deserves. LSU would have skull fricked the deserved opponent OSU. I don't guess we are considered the fact that LSU annually gets fricked by the schedule as well. frick the media.

I strongly agree with the first post of this thread. He still doesn't get the respect he deserves!
