Wow, I did not know that. And Howie's "Down goes Frasier" call was a classic. Funny story. I met Howie in the '70s and probably spent 5 minutes around him. He was a bigger A hole off camera than he was on.

I think Shannon was the perfect Color guy for Jack
The little leaguer toes the rubber, throws a dead fish for strike 1
Describing Oquendo pitching in the 17 inning game vs Braves
Later that inning he comes back with this gem...
I'm not going home bring me some Dolly Madison powdered doughnuts and crisp cold Busch
Of course he slurred all of those.
The running joke was Shannon's jersey number at MU (10) was higher than his iq
