I would say draft BPA on board instead of need, but I do know that this defense needs more playmakers all around. we just need a middle ranked defense that is oportunistic. CSP knows he will have to run the ball more this year to protect the defense and take less pressure off Drew. By doing this we control the ball and put less pressure on our defense. I think the change to 34 gives us more speed on the field and especially on the edges where we have been killed in the past with the 43 DE.

they went from 13th in points allowed and 24th in yds allowed in 2011 to 31st & 32nd. Most thought the personnel was improved before last year. It should improve more after this draft. No reason why it couldn't turnaround back to just that 2011 standard, muchless even better than that. The '09 season they were only 13th & 25th as well. This team gets a first round bye if the defense just begins to approach average.
