That's nonsense. Of course some losses are good. Maybe not in football with a shorter season, but in basketball and baseball with many more games, sometimes an arse-kicking is what a team needs to re-focus. Coaches may try to beat their team down in practice if they're getting complacent, but that doesn't work all the time. So, yes, there absolutely are good losses.
