its just to give an idea, any build guide is just that, a guide.
chances are if youre spending more than 12-1400 on a gaming build and youre not video editing, youre wasting dosh.

You really don't have to spend that much. I spent $933 and still haven't found a game I can't run on max settings.

i was wondering about this too.
wondering what i would be spending for a beginner gaming pc, and can i play using a controller?
whats the benefits of playing on PC?
should you only use it for gaming?

quote:Yes. Some games you may have to download a program to use one, but if you have a wired Xbox 360 controller, you just plug it into a USB slot and configure it. Pretty easy. But honestly, I used my controller when I first started playing ME3 on the computer, but now I just use the keyboard and mouse. It's the better option once you get used to it.
and can i play using a controller?

mods

graphics
you can play some games with a controller. I can only play FFXI with a controller. But, most games are designed for keyboard/mouse and honestly once you get used to it, its vastly superior to controller for most games (action/fps/moba).

Obviously don't have high res monitors

I stand by my statement of that being a waste of dosh until prices lower.

Is a monitor needed in the $2k budget?
Posted on 4/1/13 at 1:01 am to Tiguar
think ill just stick with consol gaming, im not enough of a hardcore gamer to even notice the difference.
Posted on 4/1/13 at 1:02 am to bluebarracuda
Nah. Planning on adding that later
Posted on 4/1/13 at 1:03 am to Tigermite
if that's what you're looking for then 2k is a good range for a video editing build. get a higher end i7 and 16g ram.

Why the 3820? For video editing?
Posted on 4/1/13 at 4:15 am to Mr Gardoki
Now grab a 27" IPS monitor to go along with Blue's build.
