Put down the controller and shut off NBA Live.

That playoff team, your words not mine, is middling at best. That sets us up to be middle of the draft, then 3/5s of our starting unit has to be replaced and we have to hope that we can attract free agents. That makes no sense. Especially with smaller market teams, that can't rely on attracting big name free agents, the game is all about acquiring assets and knowing when to flip them. It will not happen as casually as you think it can.

Seriously...the Lakers would love that deal.

Vasquez
Kobe
MWP
Anderson
Dwight

...for old, hurt, ostrich Pau Gasol.

I haven't played video games in about 10 years, so I just barely know what you are saying. But none of the moves I said are out of the question or pure fantasy. Granger is trade bait and has been all season. A swap for Gordon is good value for value and the Pacers are about the only team that would make that gamble.

Google Anderson for Gasol and there will be about 100 links, cause that was one of the hottest rumors at the deadline. The Lakers are re-tooling this off season, so it's possible. I included Vasquez to make the money work and cause I think him as a back-up is redundant when we get Rivers back next season.

My idea is to get Roberts and Miller time as primary back-ups and give Davis and Rivers more defined roles. I love Anderson as a player, but I like Smith better as a back-up PF. He's tougher and cheaper.

Yes, the team will have a ton of turnover and will be older, but we would have tons of cap space and 6-7 established players (with no major contracts yet). The team would be middling, but would have a ton of youth and major upside. Otherwise, we are dependant on the health of Gordon, Davis and Anderson finding a niche together and hoping Vasquez becomes more complete. Plus the team will almost be capped out. It might go that way, but I'm just throwing out ideas that I think might work.
