A soaker hose will work just fine. Also, how big did you let them get? Smaller cucumbers are a lot less likely to be bitter.

I don't see why not. Slow watering is always better.

As to "every day" it depends on how hot, rain, etc. They're made up of a high percentage of water.

Oh and I misspelled "straight" on the variety.
