Perhaps, but that's not what was said. Like another poster said, probably semantics. Of course it's not nearly the same thing as betting on outcomes, but I think the fear might be of having a gambling problem that rears its ugly head in the future. A college kid--with supposedly zero income--dropping $500-$1K bets on the reg is somewhat alarming.

I wouldn't exactly say that two bets is on the reg.
And do we even know for a fact that they have even paid up? Maybe payment isn't made til after they get in the pros.
I'm sure that's not the case, but people surely seem to want to run with this story as if they have any real information.

I'm sure they were just keeping a running tab right? Paying up 10k one way or another after they get drafted won't be too much. It might show they are stupid with money, but financial savvy certainly isn't a requirement in the NFL.
