Just wondering, what is to stop from US Govt/NSA building a rig that is 100 or 1000 times more powerful and mining most of the Bitcoins for themselves? How do we know they are not already doing that? I just think that a powerful state like the US or some other country has the resources to put an end to Bitcoin if they wanted to with a little effort. Just look at Stuxnet.

According to Wiki, the Government is powerless to stop the Awesome power of Bitcoin.

because the difficulty level of mining would immediatly rise dramaticly to slow the rate of discovery. it would be blatently obvious to miners that someone was doing this.
The great and powerful Oz behind the curtan set it up that way. as mining quickens, they make it harder to mine to control the currency.
I think. I really don't know my arse from a hole in the ground when it comes to this, I'm just trying to put what Wiki says together.
