You should have been disgusted and done anything and everything you could have to pay as little as possible. However, in all likelihood there's nothing you can do but just pay it. There may be a little legal wiggle room but it would definitely cost more to fight it.

I actually went back fishing with them a couple days later and had a great trip, I don't expect to catch fish every time I wet a hook whether I'm by myself or with a guide.
