I am looking into getting one of the Sony smart Bluray players. I noticed that there is a 3D smart bluray player for only a few dollars more hthan the non 3d player. I dont have a 3D television yet but plan to get one in the future. My question is can you watch regular blurays on a regular TV in a bluray 3d player?

Yep. You can also watch regular DVDs too. I got my 3D blu ray player about 6 months before the TV. I knew I eventually wanted to get one so I went ahead and got the 3D one.
Also remember, if you have a receiver that you plan to run it through, it has to have 3D pass through capability. If not, you'll have to run it straight to the TV. I was luckily that I was buying all of this around the same time

How much are they? The PS3 is also a 3D bluray player and when they come out with some new bluray technology, just download the upgrade.
