In a podcast several months back 247 looked at the last decade of players and something ridiculous like 80%-90% of players don't make it either to or past their 2nd contract with the team that drafted them. So unless it's a sure fire star like AD, you're most likely drafting a future trade asset, not the guy that will plug your roster hole directly.

The good thing for us is that we lack depth at 4 of 5 positions, and the position we are deep at (PF) doesn't have many high level prospects this year. So, best player available is almost certainly going to be at a position of need.
