Nah, at 13 deep we could be pretty seriously outclassed.

I tend to agree. The starters would be incredible, but the bench is lackluster when you are considering all-time rosters.

Nobody questions the starting 5 of:
CJ
Pistol
Rudy
Pettit
Shaq

The real debate here is over the backups. I think the only clear cut backups are at PG and C. The rest you have decisions to make:
Ethan Martin
Howard Carter/Marcus Thornton/Ronnie Henderson?
John Williams/Redden/Vernel/Tasmin?
Bass/Stromile/Baby/Tyrus/Blanton?
Stanley Roberts

That would be a pretty lackluster set of backups when you compare them to the other great schools.

Just how many minutes are you expecting the backups to play? The game only has 200 minutes to spread among all players, and I would expect the starters would play at least 25 minutes each. Do you expect to substitute for all 5 starters at once, or would the substitutes rotate to keep several starters on the floor at all times? What makes you think the players LSU has available off the bench would not be excellent for specific roles? There are great shooters available, perimeter defenders, post defenders and players to go full court pressure if needed.

The one weakness LSU might have is free throw shooting from Shaq. Schools like UCLA and Georgetown could go 4 deep at center and just foul Shaq all game long.
