I don't know. I think classic rock stations will have to either be playing stuff from the 70s-90s or reinvent themselves. There haven't been any songs like that released recently. Everything seems to be disposable pop or album-oriented artists like Radiohead and Arcade Fire.

Rock has always produced the lasting songs/acts and rock is, unfortunately, dead - save for the live club scene (and many of those acts are cover bands) and, with nobody hearing their music on the radio, there will not be a chance for acts to build a following similar to bands like Zeppelin, Allman Brothers, Skynyrd, Heart, Boston, Journey, etc., etc. and it is why, whether in name or in reality, all these 50 something and 60 something year old rock stars are still making the rounds.

I just figured out how old I'll be in 30 years and it ain't pretty. I wonder if an oldies station will play Rebecca blacks "Friday" for a throw back Friday tune.
