How bout Jalen Courtney's contributions last night? He looked pretty good in his limited minutes. I didn't see the whole game, but I saw him get a couple buckets and look impressive doing it.

Amazingly he has had 4 games in which he had over a 45 adjusted SoS. He has come in and done well with his minutes. Then he has also had games where he came in and got nothing done and turned it over. As long as he doesn't try too hard he has been able to contribute in limited action.

I like seeing him in there occasionally. I thought he would be a 10 minute/gm guy coming into the season, but I think his injury situation is worse than I thought. Lingering health issues make it hard to rely on someone.

They mentioned on the broadcast last night that there will be a College Gameday feature on Del Piero on Feb 23rd

I was really happy for him!

Personality-wise, Jalen is my favorite player. He's an awesome kid and if you watch the bench at all, you'll see he's an incredibly enthusiastic team supporter. He's a great cheerleader and consistently positive. I think that's an important role.

On the court he lacks confidence. He's not a quick thinker in fast action, and sometimes looks like a deer-in-headlights! But I think last night, when he saw Johnny light it up, and the S.Carolina forwards being small, he loosened up.

He's not really an SEC caliber player, but I think he can give us a few good minutes per game, and rest Johnny. Especially if we are ahead by 10+ pts and he doesn't feel a huge responsibility to score/rebound, because, ironically, that's when he'll score/rebound.
