Alex Hurst was personal. If he wants to tell we'll know. Move on

Shep could have been a great player on many teams, just not LSU's. Our offense did no allow for a Shep/Harvin/McKnight..ect... type. Although I hope someday it does. MOST college football teams are realizing in order to be sucessfull on ofense you need these type of players and schemes.

Nick Saban says that he disagrees with this statement.

Russell Shepard couldnt hold Percy Harvin's jock strap. RU kidding!
What could Russell Shepard do better than everyone else on the team.
Lets see
Kick returner NO
Pass catcher No
Route runner No
Running inside the tackles No
Running outside the tackles- NO
QB No Arm NO
Special teams- Good but not the best
Quickness-Speed - NO he got caught from behind by a Bama safety? has Harvin ever been caught from behind at any level? including the NFL?
This guy took some of the hardest hits ever; he just didnt have it, Period.
I will say he hoped right up and didnt fumble on those collisions, so hes a tough kid, I will give him that.
If Les Miles wouldve given the ball to Shepard on 4th and 1 against the Gumps that wouldve been a very poor coaching decision.
Theres no doubt that Ware was a much better choice under the same circmstances. Ware is a real RB.
