I believe what the players, like Drew Brees say! Not some slap dick from Tiger Rag who doesn't know nearly as much as guys like Brees, Flacco and Rivers! I'm pumped up about the addition!

How was the SD offense before and after CC?
Has Mett shown to have the talent of say Brees or Flacco as a college player?

In 2006, under Cam, the Chargers (14-2) were first in the NFL in points and fourth in yards. In 2007, the year after Cam left, the Chargers (11-5) were fifth in points and 20th in yards.

Tomlinson rushed 348 times for 1,815 yards and 28 touchdowns and caught 56 passes for 508 yards and 3 TDs in 2006 under Cam. He rushed 315 times for 1474 yards and 15 touchdowns and caught 60 passes for 475 yards and three touchdowns in 2007.

Rivers, in his first year as a starter, was 284-460 for 3388 yards with 22 TDs and 9 INTs in 2006. In his first year after Cam he was 277-460 for 3152 yards with 21 TDs and 15 INTs in 2007.

Drew Brees's TD:INT ratio his last two years in SD was 50:26. His TD:INT ratio his first two years in NO was 54:29.

Chargers Head Coach Marty Schottenheimer:

“I think Cam is a terrific choice for Mr. Huizenga and the Miami Dolphins. He’s done a great job in every regard, and we’re very, very happy for him. I think he’s an outstanding football coach. He’s a great teacher and a great person. I think his biggest strength is his ability to communicate the message to his players. He’s got a lot of energy and he’s passionate about what he does. You don’t have to spend much time around him to realize that.”

“Right now we’re going to look at all of our options. We’d like to keep the system in place. It is sound and has proven to be successful. We don’t want our players to have to learn a new system. I’m going to sit back and not rush into anything. I’m going to look in house first. We have our work cut out to replace Cam.”

Chargers Quarterback Philip Rivers

“Cam has had a tremendous impact on me as a young quarterback. He brings a lot of knowledge with both the game planning and the system that he runs. He had a lot to do with my success this year. He’s a great motivator. He has a great understanding of the game in all phases. He really has the demeanor about him that exudes a lot of confidence. I think his players feed off of that.”
