Private CPA/EA/EP/ELP (seriously can't remember all of his titles).
But I'm 1099, have investments, and have a corporation. Would rather pay a little more, than mess it up and have the IRS PIIMB

I think most of the software is created pretty equally. I do taxes and tell most people that unless they have a situation like the above poster that they will more than likely do the exact same job as a preparer by using a computer program as long as they read carefully and follow directions.
I would second what the OP did, if you have a simple return you can usually file for free online with your state's department of revenue website.
