quote:Nope, not the case. He wanted to be at Texas. He grew up an Alabama fan and was even named after an Alabama player. He was OC at Alabama Saban's first year. Even though he was a big Alabama fan, he left there to go to Texas because it was where he coached and played for seven years. His wife also went to Texas and greaduated there.
He's a Baton Rouge guy. I can't imagine he wouldn't be interested in coming home.
He was regarded as being the next head coach at Texas before the latest scandal came out. It is extremely doubtful they will fire him over this. Depending on how things turn out he might leave but would not accept anything less than OC.
Just because he went to school in Baton Rouge does not mean he has any LSU ties whatsoever. He never wanted to go here and feels no loyalty at all. My opinion is he never comes here unless offered the head coaching job.

I thought Saban wanted him gone after one year?

Regarding getting fired over this, he has already been disciplined for this it happened in 2009. His discipline was capping his pay for a year and forcing him into counseling. To discipline him again won't happen. Now does that mean they can't force him out in other ways, obviously they can but they probably won't unless they feel he is not doing his job well. Remember he has a great legacy there from playing. He cheated on his wife and admitted it, unlike Petrino he did not lie or try to cover it up.
He has to deal with it with his family "where it should be dealt with" and just not do it again and he will still be employed with UT for as long as he performs like every other job out there.
