Ginobli is Argentinian; there are a lot of Argentinians with Italian surnames and to a lesser extent German as well. Ginobli probably comes from the Ginobili name that seems to be fairly common in Italy.

FTR, when I asked where did Ginobli's name come from, I meant how did he get into the discussion. Not the fricking derivation of his actual name.

Did I miss something?
