As long as you rest the legs in practice and not run them silly, I don't think there is a long term stamina effect to pressing. I think there is a short term effect but that we will have to deal with.

That's my concern too. Our guys ARE well conditioned, but playing at the pace they did last night, for as long as they did last night, with so bench few players available WILL become an issue.
Carmouche's knee tendinitis in particular.
