Mills

Couldn't be Mills the play was a called blitz...Unless Reid tried to call the blitz off. If you look at the linebackers on that play they show blitz then bail

After watching this play over it seems like the Lb should have been playing man on the RB instead they were playing zone...and that my friend is coach's call

To be fair to Mills, Yeldon sold the chip block really well. In that defense, Mills' assignment is to blitz unless you see the RB go out, indicated by the RB running "across the eyes" (running a looping pattern away from the blitzer to get free). Yeldon, instead chipped in on Mills, faking a block and then slipping inside of the blitz to get free. A well coached technique that took advantage of a tendency we had shown in the aTm game (the play had gone for a TD in that game as well, but it was called back for a block in the back administered to Reid).

Many say that TM7 would have picked it up, but I am not sure. More likely, he would have taken a skinny track to the QB and had a better chance to disrupt the pass in the air.

Bama called the right play against our tendency. Kind of hard to beat that when it happens (and yes, LSU had called a good gameplan against Bama's tendencies all night, so don't take this as a Miles bashing Saban loving post).
