As has been stated here many times:

In 2011, Bama only played FOUR FBS teams with a winning record in a 12 game regular season, while beating three. They also finished third in the SEC. That resume was good enough to get them a rematch. Notice my point above didn't say "ranked" teams, or top 10, top 15, or top 20...Just teams that were above .500. That's how weak their schedule was in 2011.

Remember now we have to beat them twice for elimination, while they play a schedule that's 2-3 times easier than ours and only have to beat us once in their two chances.

It's a huge double standard.
