Oh please tell me how he got lucky. The guy is 7-1 in games that go down to the wire this year, I'd say that's more clutch then lucky.
Well I'm afraid that's not true, if by down to the wire, you mean games decided by 7 points or less. In fact teams who win lots of close games tend not to be able to repeat that feat the following season. If this clutch thing you were talking about existed, it would be consistent from season to season. Go look it up, it isn't.
The fact of the matter is that the Falcons were handed several games, by inferior opposition. The Raiders threw a pick 6 late in the game. The Raiders FFS. Ron Rivera couldn't figure out he had a better chance of getting his team to rush 1 yard than defending Matt Ryan for one minute. The Cards showed up without an NFL quarterback and still almost won.
Wins are a team stat. Matt Ryan may be great at completing long passes downfield but when it comes to it, if Carson Palmer was less shite and Ron Rivera less stupid, that 7-1 becomes 5-3.

Ryan still lead his team in under a minute and help win the game for the Falcons whether it be on the other teams stupidity or not. Ryan is clutch when it comes down to the wire.
