Snakes don't hybrinate..they brumate, or go through
a state of brumation in the winter months. They
are much less active than in the spring / summer
but are not asleep or inactive. They don't roam
for long distances, and since their metabolism
is slowed down, they can go for 60-90 days without
eating, but if food is close, they will still
go after it. On warm winter days they will come
out to bask for long periods of time. They're
not seen as much during the winter, but it's
not uncommon to find them during the fall and
winter months.
