His best season at Okst was 9-4 which would translates to 7wins in the SEC. Hey and he lost to an SEC school in the bowl game that year as well. Maybe LSU was desperate considering he came in after a 7-5 season ending with a Blowout loss to Ohio St.
If you don't understand that taking a program that was 13-20 the prior 3 years before Miles and turning it around is a success then you are blind or just stupid.

You all are making it to complicated than it is. I think LSU is an easy place to sell to recruits because of Sat. night football! We recruit great talent players but never can coach them up to their potential. And god knows we haven't a clue how to coach a QB!!! We haven't had 1 in 4 years. I hope METT gets it this year but so far he is average at best. He has looked good in 1 game-Bama.

Look at Gundy's record since he has been there.
1 one loss season
1 two loss season
every other season 4+ losses
Gundy should be thanking Miles for building it up for him.

[quote] 1. would you like to respond to my post where i called out your "Miles wins on talent" logic 2 so these "super sophomore" seasons you're claiming they all had.....i guess that was because they were so super talented, right? nothing to do with coaching
Choctaw: here's the problem both I and Trout responded to 1. But I'm guessing we didn't give you the answer you wanted so here it is again...........Trout-NO................ME-8 of those wins are from talent, but all of their losses are because of coaching.
Choctaw: talent usually supersedes coachability early in college. Besides not sure how you can even bring up any concept that a super sophomore season followed by a subpar junior season equates to PROGRESSION.
Again can you come up with ANY OTHER REASON AS TO WHAT CAUSED LSU TO LOOSE TO CLEMSON BESIDES SAYING SHITE HAPPENS?
Some people are clearly in denial even when the truth is smacking them in the face.

In the past 3 years Miles has lost 6 games while Saban has lost 5 games. Since you've already concluded that those 2 teams are the most talented in the country and losses to less talented teams are based on coaching, that means that Miles is almost equal to Saban.
Doesn't sound too bad.

Umm, look at who was the OC during those years,

ahhh....so now the OC gets the credit/blame. i bet of Okie State had a shitty offense you'd be blaming Miles

thats just as stupid as your original thought. what about all the huge wins Miles has had the last 8 years? let me guess....talent and super powers

did you just make this up?

Kinda like what Dinardo did for Saban, and what Saban did for Miles............ That's what you mean? The only difference is that look at who the OC was during those years under Miles, see the consistency here.
9 wins in the big 12 equates to how many in the SEC?
Better yet anything less than a BCS or New Years Day Bowl game isn't acceptable for a coach who is GETTING PAID TOP DOLLARS TO WIN A NC.

If they had a shisty offense and still hired Gundy as their coach, then this would be a different conversation.

He won a NC. He's getting paid a lot of money to keep lsu in the hunt for championships and just added another conference title and bcs game appearance in 2011.
Not enough for you? Well then you won't be happy and the majority of us adults will go on and continue supporting a successful program.

If that helps you sleep, now if Miles can win 2 more titles.

You can't even keep your own arguments straight. You said Miles couldn't win at lower tier schools. I point out that he has in fact won at a lower tier school and completely changed the face of the program.
It's like trying to argue with a 5 year old.

If you are satisfied with paying a premium price for your season tickets for a Peach Bowl loss, then you can have it.
LSU football sells itself. It's the in state university, great atmosphere, great facilities anything a recruit can want.....this was going on before Miles and Saban set foot in Tiger stadium.

If you are going to jump in at least read the previous posts
There's a difference between what you are saying and WHAT I ACTUALLY SAID....KEEP UP.
Now read what my actual quote was since you are ribbing and dabbing

Choctaw: next you'll be saying how did all those freshmen get soooooooo FRESH.
Read my statement as to what it actually says and not what you are trying to make it say, which is why you are so delusion-ally confused
