Awesome story. Shame he didn't make it on screen in the dinner scene though. Was he one of the fighters that Leo was watching when we first meet him?? The one that he gives a beer to? Can't remember if that was Joe or not.

I finished filming Django Unchained. I worked on that Quentin Tarintino film set from April to June. I was a featured “Mandingo Slave” named Eskimo Joe. Toward the end of the movie, I was sitting at a table with Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio and others. They were talking about my character Eskimo Joe. Unfortunately, they cut all of my scenes out. I did get a good joke from Quentin Tarintino. He walked up to me and said, “You are the most talked about invisible character in cinema history.” That certainly is inspiration for me going forward.

Eskimo Joe was supposed to be Candie's third best fighter that they were negotiating to buy, I think. It would have been cool to see him in the movie.

Yeah he was.
That whole negotiation around the table is about buying Eskimo Joe. Wish we could have at least seen the scene where they look at all the fighters.
Maybe the Director's Cut
