The NFL's postseason format (playoffs with >2 rounds immediately following the end of the regular season) should lead to more exciting postseason games, because it favors teams that play well late. But the FBS's postseason format (one game, or on the horizon, a 2-round playoff, both several weeks removed from the end of the regular season) is much more selective, which makes the regular season more exciting and (in my opinion) crowns a more legitimate champion.

I am a huge CF fan, but as a neutral observer, last nights game was so lopsided it was boring. I like competitive matchups, and the NFL has them in spades in the postseason games.
