That was a good article but I still think the scheme is way too simplistic, especially in the passing game. Way too often we have all short routes, all deep routes, or even the one man route. The routes dont complement each other and get very repetitive.

As far as playcalling as he touched on, long we have bitched about what is our identity because it seems to vary from game to game and at times series to series. And as also touched on in there, call plays that help guard against your weaknesses. OL getting killed? Run more screens and draws to keep DL honest. Don't call 7 step PA drops. Have a RB that is gashing the other team? Keep going to him. Don't have him disappear in the 4th when you need him most.

The main point of that article is correct - it's not rocket science. However we have been so inept for so long now and not doing the most simple of things on offense that we certainly give the perception that it is, in fact, rocket science.
