In Trents first year in 2009, we won the SEC and beat Butler in the NCAA tourney...the next two years Butler made it all the way to the NCAA Championship game. The loss that year in the 2nd round was against North Carolina in Greensboro. It may as well have been a road game. I was there..maybe 200 LSU fans total.if Ty Lawson does not come off the bench and have a great 2nd half, we are on to the sweet 16. We gave UNC their best game in the tourney by far that season. Hurricane Katrina really hurt LSU basketball. we would have had D.J. Augustine at point (he went to texas). Losing Greg Monroe to Georgetown really hurt a lot.

Trent just did not run the style of play that a lot of kids like to play these days..run and fast break..so we didnt get a lot of really good athletes under him. Plus we lost Justin Hamilton to the NBA or we could have been really good this season. No one saw that coming. With Justin and Johnny and Shavon we would have had a really solid front line.

the incoming recruiting class will be the best one since we signed Shaq and Stanley Roberts and Mo Williamson and Harold Boudreaux and Randy Devall...Johnny will get it done...just be patient with him.

Posts like this, though I admire the poster's optimism, are idiotic. These are the same excuse filled "reasons" that LSU can't be as successful in basketball as it can be in football. "It may as well have been a road game. I was there ... If ... Hurricane Katrina really hurt LSU basketball ... we would have had D.J. Augustine ..." blah blah blah...

Why are there so many excuses for basketball and not for football?
