What would happen if the schools picked the bowl games?

Besides the the top teams in the championship game or the four team playoff in two years, what would happen if instead of the bowls picking the teams or there being conference tie ins, the top remaining teams would pick what bowls they wanted to go to in order of finishing in the BCS. For example if Florida had its first pick of all the available bowls, what would they have chosen, the Sugar or the Orange or something else. And then assuming the second pick would have been Oregon would they have picked a matchup with Florida or stayed out on the west coast. Would this revitalize the bowl system at all, or allow other bowl venues to become more prestigious.
2012 Simulation
Florida- Orange
Oregon- Rose
Kansas State- Rose ?
Stanford-?

Interesting idea.
FU might take the Orange to stay in state and have a home field advantage. Oregon takes the Rose because that's traditionally the goal of all PAC teams.

Ok
so Florida takes the Orange
Oregon to the Rose
What would Kansas likely choose?

You mean like when La Tech chose the Orange bowl but the Orange bowl didn't choose them

I knew someone would bring up LA Tech when I wrote this, just not so quickly.

So you could do BCS standings for the top 60 or whatever and they pick in the order they are? That would be interesting. Only bad thing is that the lower teams would get to basically pick their opponent when the better ones couldn't. Otherwise very interesting

Lets analyze the straight BCS first and then maybe compare it to Conference Tie ins second, because in the first case as it was postulated Florida may choose the Orange over the Sugar.
