I kept most of mine at home until last year when the collector in Gonzales was robbed and killed for his coins. After that mine went back to the safety deposit box.
Also, I agree with the previous poster to go in after quality, not quantity. I have a price guide from 1969 and the stuff that was expensive then is expensive now and the good stuff appreciates at faster rate. Of course, when you are new to the hobby it's a lot more rewarding to see a full allbum than empty space.
