are you being specific to the rock & roll genre ? Because there are a lot of candidates out there in a lot of generations :

If these are indicitive of the types of voices you have near the top of you list then please don't.
I can get on board with WHitney. Nobody can argue that she wasn't amazing in her prime.
Striesand makes me want to shove rusty screw drivers through my eardrums.
I love Reba, but her voice is actually pretty weak. The duet she did with Kelly Clarkson was painful. Kelly had to basically whisper for Reba to be a part of the song. Reba should never be put on the same level as Kelly. It was pathetic.
