The beginning was great just like in the Fellowship.
quote:
Let me start with this Bilbo >>>>>>>>>> Frodo
after watching LOTR more this statement is 100% correct. Not hating on Frodo. Bilbo just did a better job
quote:
I did not enjoy the cartoon character like portrayals of the dwarves outside a few of them.
This didn't bother me because some of them were suppose to be goofy child like characters. The feel was perfect for the movie.
quote:
Gandalf bugged me a little at times he seemed to act like a whiny child instead of the gandalf we all know.
He did seem that way at the beginning. Hopefully he keeps on the latter gandalf in the next 2 which I'm sure he will with the pressure mounting.
quote:
From this point on the movie seemed more game of thrones and less mother goose.
The book was never made to be like GOT. That's what LOTR is there for. It is still a children's book per say when all said and done. If you thought that was mother goose then you would have felt the same for Fellowship at the beginning which is hilarious. The movie was darker than I expected it to be which I enjoyed. The music and sceneries in this movie are one of a kind

The white council was great because you can see Saruman already giving in to sauron while Galadriel talks to Gandalf so no one can hear.

The bilbo and gollum scene was all it was hyped up to be, loved it. The ending was perfect imo. I felt they ended it on a great note and set up for the next one.
I'm sad Gollum isn't gonna be back.

7 to a 6.5

quote:so because i put what i honestly felt about it and it doesn't match up with what you thought it is a terrible review? it is my opinion you don't have to agree with it.
that might be the worst review someone has put so far and from anyone I've spoken too
quote:now you are just being dense. as i said i didn't enjoy the beginning but very much enjoyed the ending. i graded the movie as a whole not just the parts i liked. the ending did leave me anticipating the next one.
I would rate it a 6.5/10
quote: anticipating the next one
said no one ever.
quote:i did like it. i liked that the dwarves had bilbo's back and tried to save him. i'm not 100% sure but i dont remember them being that heroic and helpful in that part of the book, not a criticism just trying to recall.
Thoughts in the Troll scene?
quote:after seeing the flashback to smaug terrorizing and destroying the dwarf kingdom and seeing how monstrous he was at the end i think it would be very anticlimactic to have him killed the way he was in the book. some may be mad if they stray from the text but i would be disappointed if a creature so big and powerful was killed by a little arrow
As with LOTR, these next two will be more actioned packed I would think. Given how much time they spend on the !!!!!!*****SPOILERS*****!!!! killing of Smaug story. END SPOILERS Though it might come in the third, not sure. Also curious to see how they handle Beorn.
