I will admit that after rewatching a few Tennessee games since we hired Chaney that his scheme is a little to vertical at times for my tastes. It seems to be very heavy in verts, deep outs and smash concepts and not a whole lot underneath, across the middle. It's almost an all or nothing type scheme.
I know many don't like him but I absolutely loved Petrino's passing attack from an x's and o's standpoint. Smartfootball has a great read on it here. Chaney would do well to take some of the TE routes and crossing routes that Petrino feasted on and add them in to his own attack. Hopefully that is what Bielema meant when he said he wanted to keep some of the things offensively that we were already doing at Arkansas.

quote:Can't stand him as a man but it's hard to deny that he was a pretty brilliant schemer and play caller.

Sounds like an LSU rantard's dream OC.
