Bayou Game recap
The Advocate article on the game
The QB from Vandebilt(Elijah McGuire) is the most talked about player in the game. I cannot find stats, apologies.
Prospects of Intrest? Rickey Jefferson is not listed. He is the only one that is a Tiger prospect that I am aware of.

It was the most lopsided outcome in the 13 years of the annual showcase, the seventh to pit the players from River parishes of St. Charles, St. James and St. John the Baptist Parishes against players from Bayou parishes Terrebonne, Lafourche and Assumption. It was the second shutout in the game’s history, the first since move to the River-Bayou format. With the victory, the Bayou Region now leads the series 4-3.

Never said I was talking about him. From what I read he is struggling with his academics.

He's referring to the superfluous 'r' you added to the school's name.

I was there and he was BY FAR the best player on the field.
Mike Detillier said he has no chance of qualifying for college.

Vandebilt Catholic football player Elijah McGuire had 118 yards rushing and two scores and added another 57 yards passing in the Bayou region's win at the annual all-star game.

He probably played less than half the game too.

What's your opinion on him as a prospect in terms of being a legit SEC player and position in college?
Posted on 12/18/12 at 11:33 am to lob1284
His height looked to be about what you're looking for from a QB but could use to put on a few pounds. He looked to me to be about 6'1.
His speed and elusiveness were what everyone saw at the Bayou - River game. To be honest he looked pretty good throwing the ball but he didn't play long enough for me to get a good grasp on his arm.
By the looks of him I would say his best bet would be at WR. He looks too lanky to play RB.
The people in the know who I talked to at the game said that he won't be making it to college though because of serious grade issues.
I think if he gets his grades in order he would most definitely be SEC caliber at WR first and possibly running an option offense at QB. He's the real deal.

he won't be making it to college
I was told by someone who attended the game he only threw to his receiver. And that there were wide open guys whom he didn't throw to just to dump off to a Vandy guy.
Chris Berry for SL had a monster 5 sack game. Other Tarpons did well on the defensive side of the ball. Still amazed that not one Bayou kid has a scholarship offer anywhere.

Someone lied to you. I was there too. Would have been hard to dump the ball off to the Vandy guy, he was playing offensive line.

Well, you know how the 2nd hand info works... Wish there was a box score or STATS...

Yeah. The DL from SL did have a nice game. I dont know about any other offers but I know Elijah has one from ULL.

IDK where you got that from that link, but Matthews and Lennox were the mvp's from the 2009 game.

Edited , apologies. Had three links open at once. When I Googled I didn't refine my search for MVP, and the year came up wrong. Thanks
If someone has a better link please post. Still would like to see a full stat line.

CLHSTROJANS- Didn't you say CL had a good running back? I remember seeing a speedy, shifty kid for the CL/SL game. Looked like a good player. Is he a jr? I also saw in the Gazette today the coaching hire you mention... Menard I believe his name is. Sexy hire!
Posted on 12/19/12 at 9:48 am to JohnZeroQ
JohnZero the RB you are talking about from CL name is Thomas Wesley. He was a only a sophmore this past season; and yes he does look like a pretty good prospect coming up. He shredded my sons HLB team
