Because women tend almost solely enjoy films that focus on emotion and not action or coherent plots (although this doesn't go for all women of course). Thus they tend to be focused on sex, while in male oriented films, sex is merely icing on the cake rather than the main goal. And any film that has to do with being gay tend to focus on finding someone to frick.

Philadelphia was a Gay film not focused on sex, and it was really good, but can't think of any other gay film that wasn't about sex.
