I started my 300 BLK SBR build today and I'm wondering why I didn't get into this a LONG time ago. In preparation I went out and bought $100 of small screwdrivers, picks, allen wrenches, pliers, ect. I used two of them. If I had a vice and spare spring that I lost, my first build would have taken 1.5 hours. No shite.
I learned two lessons. Spring kits are cheap. Buy an extra for when you inevitably lose a spring. Also, you're going to need a vice for torquing the barrel. Jamming a big screwdriver in the upper and standing on it while torquing is a recipe for disaster. Mooch off of your neighbor or whatever; just use one.
