Damn, what the Colt now going for?
Colt is now owned by CZ.
For the last 20yrs Colt has relied on it name only. There are plenty of AR that are much better than a Colt.

Assuming one could afford one and had the right licenses, permits, stamps etc.... How much is a 57 year old, Vietnam issued M16A1 worth? Full auto with duckbill flash suppressor and in good condition.

Quite true, but many people still go wild for the Pony rollmark and "C" markings on the rifle.
Newer Colts are actually made pretty well, especially their SOCOM barrels, but they're all outsourced to OEM manufacturers now instead all parts being made in-house.
Colts also still hold pretty good resale value, for whatever that's worth, but, yes, there are many other options out there now in the same price range. Old timers and cloners and Vets are essentially all Colt has now as a customer base.
BCM and DD have now all but replaced the old Colt civilian market share.
