If you were ten in 67, you were probably still in high school when Mac beat Tenn the one time he ever did, during the ill-fated "Year of the Tiger" in 1974. That team was projected in the Top 10, looked like a million dollars in the opener against Colorado (a very good team in those days) and then fell flat on its face against the Aggies. Beating Tennessee for homecoming that year was one of the bright spots in an up-and-down year.

That 74 team was the year of the Veer. Earned Carl Otis Trimble the nickname Carl Otis Fumble, God rest his soul.
