Also, I may be in the minority, but I like what Boston is doing. Those short contracts aren't going to kill them. Napoli and Victorino are good clubhouse guys. They just need to add some pitching, and they have the resources to do it.
Lineup will be solid: Ells, Pedroia, Ortiz, Victorino, Napoli, Middlebrooks, Salty, and Gomes. I think Gomes will be a nice bat in Fenway. Check out his home run chart
Few holes defensively with Salty, Napoli, and what they'll likely end up with in LF (Gomes?), but the rest are all above average in the field.
Their SP is an entirely different story: Lester, Buchholz, Doubront (nice back end guy). There just isn't much else there. Can't imagine they want to try the Bard conversion again. Pen is good: Bailey, Bard, Aceves, Miller
