I went halibut fishing out of Seward. Went out on a charter boat with eight or ten other people. Jigging with cut up bait and a rod about as thick as a pool cue. Not a whole lot of skill involved, just drop it over the side and let the line play out until your bait hits the bottom and jig it up and down. Fun when you get a big one on.
Another of my group got flown out to some remote location and dropped off for the day to salmon fish. Caught some nice king salmon and saw a bear or two.

I really like Seward. Used to stay at a place on the river on Exit Glacier Rd. Homer is pretty cool but you can do everything in Seward you can do in Homer, and more.
