It sounds like the group of guys was pretty young. I was only able to start deer hunting alone at that age. I don't think I would've trusted myself or those around me bird hunting at 15. There are too many airhead moments.

Hope the kid pulls through.

damn that sucks. prayers for the family

a highschool classmate was shot in the head when we were seniors. grazing shot took off part of the skull but no brain was injured luckily. few mm's and he would be dead.

Many, many years ago, one of my sixth grade classmates accidentally shot his 5th grade brother in the back with a 20 gauge while rabbit hunting. The older brother was walking up a bank right behind his kid brother and somehow his shotgun discharged, killing his kid brother instantly. Never will forget that.
