I make all of the LSU home games, therefore I don't watch much of Notre Dame.

Ditto...dads a huge ND fan. We got season tickets this past year and he would DVR the games and watch them when he got home.

I guess I have to root for them in Miami, specially since they are playing the Gumps. I would rather go bowling that night than watch that game I think.

In 2007, we used 2 QBs because both QBs had too much talent to sit on the bench.

In the years following we used 2 QBs because neither QB was talented enough to stay on the field full time.

Mett is talented enough to stay out there.

This.

Yeah, NDs backup QB has about 450 yards passing. Early in the year, they were bringing him in on passing situations late in the game a la what we did with Lee last year.

My mistake. I was flipping channels between them, Ole Miss, and South Carolina last Saturday night, and it's about the only time I have watched them play any. I see their scores and highlights, but always expected them to lose at some point.

There were really only 2 games where our passing game sucked and we were so one dimentional that our offense was completely stagnant. Those 2 games were Auburn and Florida.

And Towson. So it was really a stretch of 3 straight games so had it continued it would have made sense to give it a shot

But this is all a moot point because they did figure it out and our offense shouldn't be changed now

I guess thats true. I was just chalking up a crappy game against Towson, to the fact that it was Towson and who really cared because we were going to win anyway and who could get jacked up for that game, but the passing game wasn't there that night either.

No doubt about this. Can't wait to see the continued improvement between now and the bowl game over the next 4 weeks.

Not really:

9/29 Towson W 38-22 15 26 238 57.7 53 2 0 160.0

Keep in mind, there were a few drops against Towson. 238 yards and 2 TDs with 0 Int is a good passing night.

The games where we struggled to pass were:
Auburn, Florida, South Carolina, Texas A&M. 3 of those teams are Top 10. The other was the first SEC road game for Mett (at night too).

South Carolina

This wasn't so much of as struggle to pass as it was a complete domination by the running game. 258 yards on the ground against that defense. Take the yards however you can get them.

I mentioned South Carolina because Mett was only 48% completion. The overthrow to Landry and a couple drops played into that. I agree though, it ultimately does not matter how you rack up 400+ yards.

No. Nothing wrong with the 2 QB system, when you have a proper scheme and a clear cut starter. The problem during Lee/Jefferson is that we couldn't figure out which QB was better.

I really have no problems with running a 2 QB system as long as it doesn't cause confusion with who the starting QB is. In fact, I really wouldn't mind seeing a 2 QB system in this offense, it might add more balance and give the defense more to prepare for.

those two quotes are amazingly accurate.

Having a QB that can stay in the pocket, or tuck and run, or tuck and run and also pass when someone gets open, would be a real detriment, huh? Like the detriment that Johnny Football is, huh?
