I wish Capital One Bowl was still called Tangerine Bowl or Citrus Bowl...I hate bowls to be named exclusively after a company. Like Chick-fil-a Bowl and Peach Bowl
Why not just call them "Peach Bowl", "Citrus Bowl" etc...? That's what I do. If everyone who's not paid to discuss college football just called the bowl games by their original names, maybe they would stop naming bowl games after corporate sponsors.
Look at Candlestick Park for example. They changed the name to 3com park, but no one was using it. Now it's Candlestick again. The Superdome also had problems getting a corpoarte sponsor because of the brand that "Superdome" had established over the years. I don't care what anyone pays to name the Superdome, it will ALWAYS be the "Superdome".
If we wouldn't fall for the shite, they wouldn't get away with it.

without the corporate sponsors, the bowls cease to exist .. the naming rights are the most valuable things the bowls themselves can sell .. the naming rights fees generally pay most, if not all of the pay out to the two teams ..
