The makeup of the crowds these days are very different then they were 10 years ago.

I don't think this is true. I'm a season ticket holder for 40 years. What has changed drastically is the parking situation and the number of people that are on campus strictly to party. There are at least twice as many cars fighting for parking spots. 10 years ago I could find a parking spot in a horse shoe lot near the quadrangle 3 hours before kickoff. Not anymore. Now I have to hike in from off campus because I rufuse to pay the exorbitant prices for a reserved parking pass (if you can get one). If I want to leave early to beat the traffic I will.

The tailgating culture is out of control. The problems outweigh the benefits, IMV.

I've been going to games for 37 years and I see and understand what you are saying. But there are 7 or 8 times a year we get this opportunity. Does an extra hour in traffic really make that much difference in your life? I listen to the post game show. I would do that wherever I was. Don't you? I fight the traffic and then drive 75 miles home. With all the attention this is getting and with a lot of respected people noticing and calling us out aren't you big enough to stay a little longer after all you go through to get there. Us older fans have got to be better than the leave early doctor and lobbyist group!
