Yea it is ridiculous, but all the parts are really custom machined. You can expect high prices.
My total for my 2rads, pump, CPU block, fittings, res and fluid was around $500. I don't have an exact number, but around there I would think.
IDT I will ever do it again, when I upgrade to Ivy-E in January I will just buy the new H100i to cool it.

Yea screw that and the maintenance of it all though I did have to buy a better cooling case than what I have now to get more air moving.
