That's the major difference at the moment.
That and 3+ additional undefeated teams this season.
Alabama got lucky in 2011 to sneak back into the title game.
LSU got RIDICULOUSLY lucky in 2007 to sneak back into the title game.
The thing with getting lucky is, it normally doesn't happen, that's why it's called getting lucky.
