Labs wont tear your house up if you actually put forth the effort to teach them not to. People get dogs, bring them home, feed them every day and thats it. They dont take the time to work with them, train them, get their energy out, give them lots of toys to chew on, etc. We have a 6 month old lab and he has not done a single bit of damage to my house. We just finished his 2nd round of obedience classes last night he is a stud compared to the other dogs in there. The others cant sit still, wont listen, etc. where as ours is very well behaved. You have to put effort into raising a puppy just like you would raising a child, or they will tear shite up and make you hate life.
