It is time for our 1st year starting QB to come of age and play the college football game of his life. He's played against some of the best defenses college football has to offer and now the very best comes marching into town on Saturday night in Death Valley.
It is time for our battle tested QB to put a nice touch on his passes w his gifted arm and drop a few WW2 bombs on the enemy in this football war of wars. I'm sure Coach Ensminger can help him out in this area with the record setting 5 TD's he threw against Rice (mostly long passes to Carlos Carson as I recall) back some 35 glorious years ago. They say our receivers can't separate from the defense. Bull shite!
It is time for our tall and agile pocket passer to be quick and easy and under control with his short passes over the defensive front. Step aside and find a passing lane. Keep the tipped passes to a minimum. We need the completions and to keep the chains moving to go toe to toe with the best of the best.
It is time for our new-found leader to take charge and take what the defense gives you. If they dare you to run and the opportunity is there just do it! Keep the pocket presence mojo going. The sooner you make the decision to run the better - for your health and the Tigers success. The element of surprise is a weapon.
This is your time Mr. Mettenberger. You only have a few opportunities left in this 2012 college football season and this is truly one of them. Mid-term exams are over and this is the real deal. You want to graduate with honors this college football season use your past studies to ace this test of tests. You need to play with more conviction and purpose than you have all season. Time to step up young man and put the swagger back in Tiger football on the offensive side of the football.
The team on the other side will be wearing their battle red. Make sure their dreams die with a bleeding and broken heart. They will not get a 2nd chance in 2012. Make this one count. Geaux Tigers!

Unfortunately I think the real Mett has already stepped up

I'm not impressed with Mettenberger's Butler film.
He wasn't anything special from the tape I've seen.. he was very well protected tho and had plenty of time.. His accuracy did not jump out and I saw some wobbly completions.

I think you're right. We've seen the real Zach and the meter barely reaches "average".

I've watched every game this year...as have most of y'all...and accuracy was less of an issue than dropped balls. My goodness, we drop balls at an amazing rate! Now, he missed some wide open folks at TAMU, but I'm wondering how much of that was wind driven? Hope it's not windy Saturday night!

he already has...there is a reason he was down the depth chart at UGA...and was easily let go...not trying to be a dick...just saying...

Its safe to say that if METT hasnt performed in the games leading up to BAMA, for people to think that he will have his break out game against BAMA is ridiculous!!!!! LSU needs to let the stable of RB's do what they do and the DEFENSE do what they do and hopefully METT and the receivers can connect with each other just to keep drives alive. Special teams or D has to score or to beat bama, passing game is mediocre at best.....I still like tigers solely on RB's, D, and Special teams..LSU 17 BAMA 14

HOW ABOUT THE RECEIVERS STEP UP? THATS WHERE THE BALL IS DROPPED MOST OF THE TIME! NO PUN INTENDED..ha ha!

This is not true. Think how many times receivers have dropped his passes. Once Mett and his WR get on the same page...it will be interesting to watch.

Funny what you can read on The Rant. Before the season, with all the hype, people were saying he was penciled in as the starter at UGA before he was dismissed.

That very well protected would be a great help to Mett.McCarron looks like he is protected by an 'Iron Curtain." When he passes he has enough time to write a letter to his mother before he releases the ball.Given time,Mett will be hell on wheels;that is. if the receivers don't drop the ball.
